ID Released For Person Struck, Killed By Vehicle On Busy Suffolk Roadway

Police on Long Island have released the identity of a man killed while crossing a busy highway.

Ralph Alexandre, age 36, was killed around 4:50 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 2, on northbound Route 110 in East Farmingdale in Suffolk County.

According to investigators, Jeremie Jean, age 52, of Amityville, was driving a 2020 Nissan Pathfinder northbound on Route 110, approaching Smith Street, when his vehicle struck Alexandre, who was running across the road.

Alexandre, of Westbury in Nassau County, was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Jean was not injured.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check. 

Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to call the First Squad at 631-854-8152.
